Seeking public assistance – assault investigation
The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance as they investigate an assault that took place in January.
On Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at approximately 7 p.m., a male suspect was preventing three women from boarding a CTrain at the 6th Street Station, when another man came to their assistance.
An altercation ensued. Investigators believe the suspect was attempting to throw the man onto the tracks, but instead threw him onto the platform.
The suspect fled the area, and the victim also left before police arrived.
Officers would like to speak to the victim, and ask that he contact Cst. Ryan Johnson at the CPS District 2 office, 403-567-6271.
The victim is described as Asian, 25 to 40 years old, wearing a black jacket, backpack, and red and white baseball cap.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, 6’4” to 6’5” tall in his 20s, approximately 200 lbs., with a slim build, brown hair and a beard.
