Seeking Public Assistance - Woman Assaulted

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying a man who accosted a woman as she walked in a northeast neighbourhood and assaulted her.

The 18-year-old woman was walking in the 1400 block of Falconridge Drive N.E., around 1:30 a.m., on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, when she was approached by a man from behind.

The man was able to drag the woman to the ground and pull her into some nearby trees. She was able to fight him off and run to a nearby home. She sustained minor injuries as a result of the attack.

Police were notified of the attack on Wednesday at approximately 2:30 p.m., and have obtained a description of the attacker from the victim.

He is described as having a medium skin tone, possibly of Aboriginal or East Indian descent, 6’0” to 6’5” tall, with a medium-to-large build. He was wearing black jeans and a black hoodie.
