Seeking Public Assistance - Unsolved Robberies
The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to help solve five unrelated bank robberies that occurred in Calgary between June 2011 and September 2013.
On Friday, June 3, 2011, at approximately 8:50 a.m., a man entered the TD Canada Trust bank located in the 1200 block of Centre St. N. Once inside, the man approached the teller and produced a note indicating it was a robbery and demanded cash. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and immediately exited the bank.
The man is described as Caucasian, 5’10” tall, approximately 165 lbs., clean shaven, with short hair and a thin face. He was wearing tinted eyeglasses, a black baseball cap with a logo on the front, a white hooded sweatshirt with a black shirt underneath, white track pants and black gloves.
On Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at approximately 5:50 p.m., a man entered the TD Canada Trust bank, located in the 3600 block of Brentwood Rd. N.W. Once inside, he approached the teller and produced a robbery note indicating he had a weapon. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and immediately exited the bank.
The man is described as Caucasian, between 5’4” to 5’8” tall, with brown hair, a brown goatee and was wearing a black jacket.
On Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a man entered the Scotiabank, located in the 3200 block of 17 Ave S.E. He posed as a customer waiting in line, but when he approached the teller, he produced a note indicating it was a robbery. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank.
The man is described as black, in his mid-20s, 6’ tall, roughly 170 lbs., with a slim build. He was wearing a grey hoodie and a dark coloured toque.
On Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, just before 5 p.m., a man entered the CIBC, located in the 2300 block of Centre Street N. He then approached the teller and presented a note demanding money. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank.
He is described as Caucasian, 35 to 50 years old, 6’ tall and roughly 200 lbs. He was wearing a baseball hat, white short-sleeved T-shirt, blue jeans and black sunglasses.
On Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at approximately 11:25 a.m., a man entered the Scotiabank located in the 900 block of 1 Street N.E. He approached the reception clerk and made a request for money, however left without receiving any.
The man is described as Caucasian, between 30 and 40 years old, 5’6” tall, 180 lbs., and with a medium build. He was wearing a black toque, black sunglasses and a black and white plaid shirt.
