Seeking public assistance - serious injury collision

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in the investigation of a serious injury collision.

At approximately 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, a 2008 GMC 2500 Sierra was travelling south on Stoney Trail towards the intersection of Peigan Trail, when it drifted off the roadway. The truck then collided with the post for a roadway sign. The collision caused a small fire in the driver compartment that was extinguished by passing motorists.

The driver, a 49-year-old male from Airdrie, sustained critical injuries and remains in hospital.

Speed and alcohol are not considered factors.
