Seeking Public Assistance - Robberies

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying a man responsible for at least two recent robberies.

During the first incident at approximately 3:30 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, a man walked into a Mac’s Convenience Store at 1264 68 St. S.E., and pulled a knife on the lone employee. The suspect demanded cash and before the employee could comply, the man grabbed the entire register and ran from the store.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, and was wearing a black bandana over his face. He had on a grey “TapouT” brand zip-up sweatshirt with the hood up and light-blue jeans.

In the second robbery on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, a man walked into the 7-Eleven store at 4527 8 Ave. S.E., around 5 a.m., and asked the lone employee for a carton of cigarettes. As the clerk went to grab the carton, the suspect pulled out a knife and demanded money. The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the offender left the store.

The offender was not masked during this robbery and is described as Caucasian, between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 5’8” tall, with a muscular build. He has blue eyes and short, light-brown hair, as well as a goatee.

The suspect left the store and got into an early 1990s GMC or Chevrolet pick-up truck. This truck, which was reported stolen, was red and white – with a red roof and hood.

At the time of the offence, he was wearing a camouflage hat with a white logo, a grey “TapouT” brand zip-up sweatshirt with a skull design, and blue or grey pants. The offender also had a tattoo on the right side of his neck.
