Seeking Public Assistance - Men Wanted on Warrants

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating two men, one of whom is wanted on warrants in connection with a recent incident in Castleridge.

At approximately 5:45 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, an officer was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 0-100 block of Castleridge Crescent N.E. The initial call for help came from someone inside the home who said two men were at the address threatening to shoot one of the residents. The two men left the home before police arrived, however, warrants have now been issued for one of the men.

Gaiven Singh MAHAL, 18, is being sought for uttering threats in connection with the incident. MAHAL is East Indian, 5’9” tall, 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. A photo of MAHAL is available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Police are also seeking Davinder Singh SANGHERA, 28. SANGHERA, is wanted on unrelated warrants for breaching his current release conditions and theft. SANGHERA is a person of interest in the Castleridge incident.

He is East Indian, 5’11” tall, 170 pounds, with brown hair and black eyes. He has a tattoo on his upper right arm of a lion’s face. A photo of SANGHERA is available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Shorty after the incident in Castleridge, a CPS member was involved in an officer-involved shooting a short distance away on Fallingworth Court N.E. Police have not made a connection between the two men mentioned above. The shooting is still under investigation and no injured person has been identified.
