Seeking Public Assistance - Mall Smash-and-Grab

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in connection with a smash and grab at a northeast mall on the weekend.

At approximately 4:15 a.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015, police were called to Marlborough Mall in the 3800 block of Memorial Drive N.E., for reports a truck had rammed the front entrance.

Once inside the mall, two offenders entered a jewelry store and stole several items.

The offenders then left the area in the stolen truck, which was later recovered in the 4100 block of Maryvale Drive N.E., as a result of a tip from a member of the public.

Total estimated damages to the mall and jewelry store is approximately $80,000.

The first suspect is described as Caucasian, wearing a scarf around his face, jeans, a dark blue wind breaker-type jacket with white horizontal stripes along the cuffs and waist area, red underwear that appeared above low-waisted, dark coloured pants and work gloves. He was also wearing blue, grey and white runners.

The second man was wearing a grey hoodie, jeans, and black Nike runners with white soles. His faced was masked during the incident.

Photos of the individuals believed linked to the case can be found on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
