Seeking public assistance - Hit-and-run

The Calgary Police Service is asking for assistance in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit and run collision earlier this week.

On Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at approximately 8:30 a.m. a serious injury hit-and-run collision occurred at the intersection of Anderson Road and 14 Street S.W.

A Hyundai Accent waiting to turn north onto 14 Street from eastbound Anderson Road was struck from behind and pushed into the intersection. The Hyundai ended up in the path of an oncoming westbound Dodge Durango, and was struck on the right side.

Both vehicles ended up on the median of the intersection. The passenger of the Hyundai was transported to hospital and remains in critical condition.

The vehicle that initially struck the Hyundai failed to remain at the scene. Police believe the vehicle in question is a 1997 – 2003 Dodge Durango or Dodge Dakota with an extended cab. The colour of the truck is unknown. It will have noticeable damage to the front area.
