Seeking Public Assistance - Bank Robberies

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to aid in the investigation of two bank robberies that took place yesterday.

At approximately 10 a.m., on Monday, April 7, 2014, a man walked into the Bank of Montreal located in the 2500 block of 32 Street N.E. He approached the teller and produced a note demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the bank.

The man is described as having a darker skin tone, 35 to 45 years old, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, approximately 150 lbs. to 170 lbs., with a medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark baseball cap, dark pants and sunglasses.

At approximately 11 a.m., shortly after the robbery at the Bank of Montreal, a man entered the TD Canada Trust located in the 3000 block of 17 Avenue S.E. He approached the teller and produced a note demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money he fled north from the bank on foot.

The man is described as 20 to 30 years old and 5’10” to 6’1” tall. He was wearing a black toque, a green puffy jacket, scarf, blue jeans, work boots and sunglasses.

The Robbery Unit is investigating to determine if these incidents are related.
