Sage Hill House Rental Resulting in Property Damage – Update

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in a case of significant property damage that occurred to a Sage Hill home.

The Calgary Police Service was called numerous times to a home located in the 100 block of Sage Valley Drive N.W. over the weekend of Friday, April 24 to Monday, April 27, 2015, for noise complaints. On Monday, April 27, 2015, police were called regarding a disturbance at the home and were subsequently contacted by the homeowners at approximately noon the same day for assistance in removing the renters from their home.

Extensive damage to the home occurred over the weekend. Originally estimates were between $50,000 and $75,000. Damages have subsequently been increased to approximately $150,000.

The Calgary Police Service is asking anyone who was in the home to come forward with any information about who may have been in the home during the weekend, and who may have been responsible for the significant damage.

During the course of the investigation, it has been determined that fraudulent credit cards were used to purchase food and alcohol for the home over the weekend of April 24 to 27. The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate and is working to identify persons of interest in relation to the fraud through corresponding CCTV images.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
