Police investigating Thorncliffe home invasion

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a home invasion that occurred in the community of Thorncliffe late last week.

At approximately 5 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, two men forced their way into a residence located in the 6100 block of Buckthorn Road N.W. The men demanded money and jewelry from the elderly couple living inside, assaulted the residents and then fled the home.

Both occupants, a man and woman in their 70s, were transported to hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Police do not believe this to be a random attack.

Police are looking for two suspects. The first man is described as Caucasian, in his late 20s, 6’2” in height with a slim build. He was wearing a blue and white bandana across his face.

The second man is described as Caucasian, in his early 20s, 5’10” in height with a medium build. He was also wearing a bandana over his face.
