Police investigating shooting in Panorama

The Calgary Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred last night in the community of Panorama that has left one man in hospital.

At approximately 11 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, a man in his early 20s arrived at his residence located in the 0 to 100 block of Panamount Heights N.W. Upon exiting his vehicle, he was approached by an unknown male who spoke with him briefly before shooting him.

The victim was able to enter his residence at which time family members contacted 9-1-1. A family member attempted to transport the victim to hospital as officers arrived. He was then transported to hospital via EMS in serious condition, but has since been upgraded to serious, but stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing but at this time, due to the circumstances of the shooting, police do not believe this was a random attack.  

The suspect is described as a black male dressed in black. He was driving an older model gold or champagne Acura RDX or Lexus RX350.
