Police Investigating Gunfire Incident in Northeast

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating after multiple bullet holes were found in several northeast homes this morning.

At approximately 10:15 a.m., today, Saturday, March 9, 2013, Public Safety Communications received a call from a woman who discovered numerous bullet holes in the side of her home, as well as rounds inside the house.

Officers immediately flooded the area in the 7000 block of California Boulevard N.E., and were able to locate what is believed to be an area where the gunfire took place.

Due to the potential for bullets to travel large distances, officers are currently going door-to-door in the area to ensure the safety of homeowners, as well as canvassing for information. Currently, there are no reports of anyone being injured as a result of this incident.

Several additional homes and a nearby businesses have all suffered damage as a result of being struck by bullets.
