Police investigate possible child luring attempt

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a possible child luring attempt in the Auburn Bay community.

At approximately 3:45 p.m., on Monday, April 20, 2015, a young boy was walking home from his school bus stop near the intersection of Auburn Bay Boulevard S.E. and Autumn Grove S.E. When the child arrived at home, he told his parents that a man who was walking behind him had asked if he wanted to go to the man’s house. The man then followed the child for a little while despite being told no.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 5”10” tall, with a slim build and short black hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, ripped blue jeans and black loafer-style shoes at the time.

Police encourage all parents to talk to their children about what to do when a stranger is making them uncomfortable, and how to tell the difference between a stranger they can ask for help – such as police officers, Transit drivers, teachers or other parents – and a stranger who might be dangerous.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
