Police ask public to avoid intersection in north Cranston

The Calgary Police Service is currently dealing with an incident near the intersection of Cranfield Park and Cranfield Green S.E. Residents in that community are asked to avoid the area around that intersection so police can safely resolve the situation.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, police attempted to take someone into custody as part of an ongoing investigation. The individual moved inside a residence and officers are now working to safely make the arrest.

At this time, police do not believe there is a danger to the public outside of the immediate vicinity. The Calgary Police Service would ask that people not post pictures of responding officers or vehicles to social media so the situation can be resolved quickly and safely.
