Police ask for public's help to solve homicide from 2013

The Calgary Police Service is once again appealing to the public for any information that could help the investigation into the death of a young man late in 2013.

Police found Anthony James FERNANDEZ deceased a in vehicle at approximately 3 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, in the 1200 block of Colgrove Avenue N.E. He had been reported missing by his family on Dec. 24, 2013.

The death was determined to be a homicide and police have been investigating several persons of interest since then. They have now been cleared of involvement and the investigation has stalled. New details of the case are now being released in the hope that it will help others who may have information on the homicide come forward.

Based on the autopsy results, police believe FERNANDEZ died in the early hours of Dec. 25, 2013, at the location where he was found. The vehicle, a 2009 maroon Mazda 6, that he was found in was also lit on fire, destroying much of the evidence inside.
