Pedestrian collision

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section continues to investigate a pedestrian collision that took place this morning.

At approximately 7:40 a.m., a 68-year-old man was driving a white 2014 Dodge Journey minivan northbound on 4 Street northeast approaching Huntstrom Drive. The van struck a 12-year-old boy who was crossing the street. The boy was  taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed speed played a factor in the collision. Charges are pending.
