Northwest shooting victim identified

The victim in a shooting that occurred on Wednesday night has been identified following the completion of an autopsy.

At approximately 11:15 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, police were called to the area of 16 Avenue and 19 Street N.W. for reports of shots fired. Officers found a car stopped in the south curb lane along eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. at 19 Street. A woman was found in the vehicle in serious, life-threatening condition. She was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The victim has been identified as Kallen Brianne CAROTHERS, 23, of Calgary.

The investigation is ongoing and police are still trying to identify and locate a man who may also have been inside the vehicle. He is believed to be a Black male in his 20s, between 5’ 10” inches and 6 feet in height, with a thin build. At the time, he may have been wearing white pants and he may be in need of medical attention.
