No Charges in Fatal Collision

The Calgary Police Service has concluded its investigation into a fatal pedestrian incident over the weekend and no charges will be laid.

Emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Saddlecrest Green N.E., around 11 p.m., for a report of a man in distress. The victim had reportedly been hit by a car, however, further investigation determined the man fell off the hood of the car after jumping on it.

It’s believed the victim threw himself on the hood of the car in an attempt to stop the driver from leaving a residence. He fell off and struck his head on the pavement, sustaining critical injuries. He died overnight.

As the driver in this case did not cause the incident, no charges will be laid. The victim and the driver are known to each other. Drugs and alcohol are not believed factors.
