Motorcycle collision investigation

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a motorcycle collision that resulted on one man being transported to hospital in critical condition.

At approximately 12 p.m., on Thursday, June 4, 2015, a 2015 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle was traveling westbound on Bow Trail. As the light turned yellow at 45 Street S.W., a car waiting to make a left turn onto 45 Street pulled into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.  The motorcycle collided with the front of the car and the rider was thrown over the hood.

The operator of the car, a 63-year-old woman, did not receive any injuries. The driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 30s, received serious life-threatening injuries. 

It does not appear that speed or alcohol was involved in this collision.
