Motor Vehicle Accident - 6000 Block Madigan Drive

At approximately 2100 hrs a serious collision occurred in the 6000 block of northbound Madigan DR NE. A cream colored 1997 Infiniti QX, driven by a 29 year old male, was northbound Madigan DR NE when it began to lose control and went into “yaw”. The vehicle rotated clockwise and left the road on the eastside of Madigan DR NE. When the vehicle left the road it struck a 1998 red Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep was then pushed into a 1996 green Ford Explorer. Both the Jeep and the ford were owned by a resident of the community.  After colliding with the Jeep, the Infiniti rotated counterclockwise on to the lawn of 6060 Madigan DR NE coming to final rest on the sidewalk.

The Infiniti suffered serious damage to the driver’s side, due to the contact with the Jeep.  EMS and CFD responded and needed to extricate the driver, and the 23 year old female passenger.  Both were transported to the Foothills Medical Center. The driver suffered life threatening injuries and the passenger suffered serious/critical injuries.

Calgary Police Service is investigating the collision and speed appears to have been a factor in the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Calgary Police Service Traffic section.
