Monterey Park Homicide Victim Identified

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate a fatal shooting in the city’s northeast over the weekend.

At approximately 9 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, police responded to the 7000 block of California Blvd N.E. for reports of a man found injured on a driveway. The victim was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

A witness who called in the complaint was driving by when he noticed the victim lying beside a vehicle parked on the driveway.  The victim got up, entered the vehicle and reversed it onto the roadway striking the witness’ vehicle. The victim then exited the vehicle and fell to the ground.

Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the deceased has been identified as David QUACH, 27, of Calgary. QUACH died as a result of the shooting.

This incident is not thought to be random; however a specific motive is yet to be determined.

This is the 16th homicide of 2015.
