Men Charged in Connection with Shooting Incidents

The Calgary Police Service has charged two men after several vehicles and homes were hit by gunfire over the weekend.

Police were called at approximately 11:45 p.m., on Saturday, April 11, 2015, after a dark-coloured truck was spotted in the communities of Temple, Monterey Park and Abbeydale with its occupants randomly shooting at cars and homes.

At least three vehicles and two homes were damaged during the shooting incident. No citizens were injured. Damage is estimated at approximately $10,000.

The occupants of the truck were arrested at approximately 12:30 a.m., and a .22-calibre rifle was seized from the vehicle.

Sabri Ahmed SABRIE, 21, and Wasiullah AMINZADA, 22, both of Calgary, are each charged with five counts of mischief causing danger to life, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, contravention of the firearms act and unauthorized possession of a firearm, uttering threats, careless use of firearm, and pointing a firearm.

It’s not believed any of the property or the owners were targeted, rather that these were random acts.
