Man Wanted on Warrants

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate a man wanted on several warrants.

On Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at approximately 2:40 p.m., a collision occurred at 130 Avenue and 48 Street S.E. A man was then allegedly seen removing two bags from the vehicle, which was later determined to be stolen, and ran towards the Walmart at 4705 130 Ave. S.E.

The man entered the store, and several minutes later, employees confronted him after alarms went off as he tried to leave through an emergency exit.

The man is alleged to have pulled what appeared to be a handgun out of his bag, pointing it at the three employees. He fled the area on foot, in a southbound direction, stopping to point the weapon at another witness.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Brian Robert BLAIS, 31, of Calgary.

He is wanted on four counts of assault with a weapon, four counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of breach of probation and one count each of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, hit and run and breach of a weapons prohibition.

BLAIS is described as Caucasian, 5’8” tall, 180 lbs., with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes. He has the tattoo "BRB" on the back of his neck.
