Man in custody in homicide investigation

The Calgary Police Service has confirmed that Isaiah Riel RIDER has been located by RCMP and taken into custody.

Police continue to search for homicide suspect

Police continue to search for a man wanted in relation to the death of a woman in her Ranchlands home.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, police were called to the 0-100 block of Ranchlands Bay N.W., for reports of a suspicious death. Upon arrival a woman was found deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified as Christa CACHENE, 26, of Calgary.

Homicide investigators continue to search for Isaiah Riel RIDER, 18, of Calgary. RIDER is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder in relation to the death of CACHENE, as well as unrelated warrants for assault and breach of a conditional sentence order. He is described as an Aboriginal male, approximately 6’2” tall, 155 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

RIDER is believed to be in the greater Calgary area or Southern Alberta‎.
