Man charged with 14 break and enters

A man has been charged in relation to 14 break and enters targeting shops and small businesses in the city’s southwest.

Between Saturday, July 4, 2015, and Tuesday, July 14, 2015, numerous businesses in the area of Macleod Trail and 42 Avenue S.W. were targeted by a man who would gain entry to the store by breaking a glass window and then stealing items and cashboxes.

Following an investigation by the District 1 Operations Team and the District 1 Break and Enter Detail, a suspect was identified using CCTV captured during some of the incidents.

At approximately 6 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2015, a man was arrested at a store located in the 300 block of 61 Avenue S.W.

Dallas Morris SHAW, 46, has been charged with 14 counts of break and enter to commit theft. He was also arrested on an outstanding Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large, and three other outstanding Alberta-wide warrants for break and enter to commit theft.

SHAW will next appear in court on Friday, July 24, 2014.
