Man charged in relation to Pineridge homicide

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a man in relation to murder that took place earlier this week.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, police were called to check on the welfare of an individual in a residence in the 400 block of Pinehill Road N.E. Upon arrival a woman was found deceased within the home.

Following an autopsy on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, the victim has been identified as Chelsea SERPENTINI-HARTY, 24, of Calgary.

Police have charged Jonathon Edward MARTIN, 26, with first-degree murder. He appeared in court this morning, Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015.

SERPENTINI-HARTY and MARTIN were in a relationship and living together in the residence.
