Man charged in relation to Monterey Park homicide

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a man in relation to the murder of a Calgary man last weekend.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at approximately 9 p.m., police responded to the 7000 block of California Blvd N.E. for reports of a man found injured on a driveway. The victim was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

Following an autopsy on Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, the victim was formally identified as 27-year-old David QUACH. QUACH died as a result of a shooting.

On Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, police formally charged Said Raed ABDULBAKI, 20, of Calgary with second-degree murder. He appeared in court this morning, Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015.
