Man charged in four bank robberies

The Calgary Police Service has arrested a man in connection with four bank robberies that took place during this month.

In each of these robberies, the man entered a Scotiabank location and produced a note demanding cash. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and he fled. The robberies occurred at the following locations:

• Thursday, June 5, 2014 at approximately 11 a.m., at the Scotiabank located in the 2000 block of 33 Avenue S.W.
• Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at approximately 12:30 p.m., at the Scotiabank located in the 4900 block of Richmond Road S.W.
• Monday, June 16, 2014, at approximately 12:30 p.m., at the Scotiabank located in the 1900 block of Southland Drive S.W.
• Monday, June 23, 2014, at approximately 11 a.m., at the Scotiabank in the 6400 block of Crowchild Trail S.W.

No one was injured during these robberies.

As a result of the similarities in each of these incidents, the Calgary Police Service had been monitoring the area and uniformed officers were able to arrest the man yesterday, after he fled on foot. He was arrested without incident.

Bradley James CARSON, 27, of Calgary, is charged with four counts of bank robbery.
