June photo enforcement locations

In response to community needs identified through statistical analysis, collisions, and citizen concerns, mobile photo radar will be set up on Crowchild Trail, Deerfoot Trail, Barlow Trail, Stoney Trail, Macleod Trail, Sarcee Trail and Glenmore Trail.

Photo radar will be focusing on the communities of Acadia, Altadore, Alyth/Bonnybrook, Auburn Bay, Banff Trail, Beddington, Bridlewood, Cambrian Heights, Castleridge, Cedarbrae, CFB Lincoln Park, Citadel, Cliff Bungalow, Copperfield, Coral Springs, Coventry Hills, Cranston, Crescent Heights, Deer Run, Diamond Cove, Douglasdale/Douglasglen, Edgemont, Erin Woods, Evanston, Evergreen, Falconridge, Forest Lawn, Glenbrook, Glendale, Glendale/Killarney/Glengarry, Greenview, Hamptons, Hidden Valley, Huntington Hills, Inglewood, Killarney/Glengarry, Lake Bonavista, MacEwan, Manchester, Martindale, Mayland Heights, Mission, Monterey Park, Montgomery, Mount Pleasant, Mount Pleasant/Cambrian Heights, North Glenmore Park, Ogden, Palliser, Panorama, Pump Hill,  Queensland, Ramsay, Richmond, Rocky Ridge, Rosemont, Rundle, Shaganappi, Shawnessy, Signal Hill, South Calgary, Southview, St. Andrew’s Heights, Strathcona, Sunnyside, Taradale, Thorncliffe, Tuscany, Tuxedo, University Heights, Upper Mount Royal, Vista Heights, Walden, West Hillhurst, Wildwood, Willow Park, Winston Heights/Mountview, and Woodbine.

During the spring and summer months photo radar will also be providing support in construction zones on major high speed roadways.

As well as photo radar, there are 51 Intersection Safety Camera (ISC) locations throughout the city. These cameras can photograph vehicles entering the intersections during all phases of the signal, including red light infractions.

These cameras continue to reduce collisions and foster a safer driving environment at our intersections.

The speed on green initiative uses up to 46 of these ISC locations to capture vehicles that speed through green and yellow lights. Speeding fines reflect how fast you are travelling over the limit. Speeds in excess of 50 km/hr over the speed limit result in an appearance before a judge.

These drivers not only put themselves in danger, but they also endanger the lives of others.
