Joint services Commercial Vehicle Safety Checkstops completed

The Calgary Police Service Truck Unit in conjunction with Rocky View County and Foothills County conducted three days of commercial vehicle checkstops.

A total of 185 inspections were conducted, resulting in 156 summonses. Out of the 185 inspections, 55 per cent of the vehicles had to be pulled out of service, 22 per cent required attention and 23 per cent passed inspection.

All types and sizes of commercial vehicles were checked for mechanical fitness, driver qualification, hours of service compliance, load securement and transportation of dangerous goods compliance.
