Investigation – Fatal collision

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate a fatal collision between a car and a pedestrian that occurred around 1:50 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 12, 2013.
 
One person remains in custody, however, no charges have been laid at this time.
 
An autopsy will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013.
 
Roads in the area have re-opened. 
 
Further updates are not anticipated tonight. More information will be released when it is available, likely after the autopsy.

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a fatal injury collision between a car and a pedestrian. 
 
At approximately 1:50 p.m., police were called to the 4200 block of Macleod Trail south for reports of a collision. Upon arrival emergency crews discovered a female victim pinned under a vehicle. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. 
 
The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody. 
 
Roads in the area will be shut down until the investigation has been completed. Drivers are asked to find alternative routes for the rush hour commute.
