Injury collision involving Calgary Police Service Officers
The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate an injury collision that took place last night.
At approximately 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, an unmarked 2009 Chevrolet Express police van, with five tactical officers was traveling west on Blackfoot Trail towards 19 Street S.E.
At the same time, a 2008 Toyota Tacoma was traveling eastbound on Blackfoot Trail towards 19 Street.
As both vehicles entered the intersection, the Toyota began to turn left across the path of the Chevrolet, resulting in a collision.
All five occupants of the Chevrolet as well as the driver of the Toyota were taken to Foothills Hospital. They have since been released.
Alcohol is not a factor in the collision. Drivers’ actions are considered to be a factor.
