Homicide Victim Identified

An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is currently ongoing, however, the victim of a suspicious death in Auburn Bay has been identified, and the death deemed a homicide.

Just after 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, police were called to the 0-100 block of Auburn Sound Circle S.E., for reports of a shooting. A man was found deceased upon arrival.

The victim has been identified as Cuong HOANG, also known as Andy Cuong HOANG, 46, of Calgary. The cause of death will not be released at this time.

A beige minivan believed connected to the incident was located earlier today, Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, in the city’s southeast.

At this time, investigators do not believe this is a random incident, however, a motive has yet to be determined.
