Homicide Investigation

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate a homicide that occurred earlier this week.

At approximately 7:15 a.m., Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, police were called to the 5300 block of 5 Avenue S.E., for reports of a man found laying on a sidewalk suffering from stab wounds.

A man in his 30s was transported to hospital in serious life-threatening condition. He succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Although the autopsy is ongoing, the victim has been identified as Ronald ELEPANO, 34, of Calgary.

This is the 29th homicide of 2014.

Although details are limited, at this time this does not appear to be a random attack. Detectives believe more than one person was involved, however, the descriptions are vague due to the time of day.
