Hit and Run Investigation

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Unit is currently investigating a hit and run involving a pedestrian in downtown Calgary.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, police were called to the area of 4 Street and 15 Avenue S.W. for reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains in critical condition.

Witnesses reported seeing a verbal altercation take place between the occupants of the vehicle and a group of men walking down the street. It is believed that following the altercation, a dark-coloured sedan returned and struck the victim before fleeing the scene.
