Hit and Run Collision from Jan 29 2014 @ Anderson Road X 14 Street SW

On January 29, 2014 at approximately 20:25 hours a 44 year old male was operating a 2005 Hyundai Accent eastbound on Anderson Road S.W. waiting in the left turn bay to travel northbound on 14 Street S.W.  His 19 year old son was in the front passenger seat.

An unknown vehicle drove into the rear of the Hyundai, pushing it out into the intersection.  The Hyundai ended up in the path of an oncoming westbound Dodge Durango.

The 2003 Dodge Durango was being operated by a 29 year old male.  He attempted to steer around the Hyundai but struck the right side intruding approx. 40 centimeters into the Hyundai.

Both vehicles ended up in the northwest corner up onto the median of the intersection.  The front passenger in the Hyundai received critical injuries as a result of this collision.  All of the other persons involved received minor injuries.  Alcohol or speed is not a factor with any of the identified parties.

It is felt that the offending hit and run vehicle is a pick-up truck similar to a Dodge Dakota or Toyota Tundra that has a front bumper height taller than most vehicles.  A suspect vehicle has not yet been located.
