On Sunday June 7th, 2015 at approximately 1100 hours, a serious injury, hit and run collision occurred in the 1800 block of 16th Avenue N.W.

A stolen 2006 Ford Super Duty pick-up truck bearing Alberta plate EUX378, with two occupants, committed a gas drive-off at a gas station at 1740 16th Avenue N.W. The Ford headed westbound on 16 Avenue and pulled into a parking lot, approximately one block west, at 1818 16th Avenue N.W. A 35 year old female employee of the gas station tracked down the Ford at the parking lot and attempted to prevent it from driving away by standing in front it. The Ford struck the woman as it exited the parking lot and carried her on the hood approximately 15 metres. The woman was deposited off of the hood into the middle westbound lane of the 1800 block of 16th Avenue. The woman was subsequently run over by the Ford as it fled the scene westbound on 16th Avenue N.W.

The identities and injury status of the occupants of the Ford are unknown at this time and police continue to search for the vehicle and its occupants. The woman sustained serious injuries.

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating the incident. It is unknown at this time if speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
