High Risk Offender Released

In the interest of public safety, the Calgary Police Service is issuing the following public information and warning in regards to the release of an inmate.

Kevin Ronald BROOKS, 28, was released into the Calgary area today, Tuesday, June 23, 2015, after serving a seven-year federal prison sentence for manslaughter. BROOKS also has a history of violent offences. He has been violent against strangers, people known to him and peace officers. His past offences have been committed in Edmonton, Drumheller and Saint John, NB. 

He will now be monitored by the Calgary Police Service High Risk Offender Program. 

BROOKS is described as Caucasian, approximately 160 pounds, 6’ tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He also has multiple tattoos, including one around his neck, and tear drops by the corner of his right eye.

The Calgary Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of the release of BROOKS.

Members of the public are advised that the intent of the process is to enable members of the public to take suitable precautionary measures and not to embark on any form of vigilante action.
