Fraud and break-in charges

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man with a series of break-ins at a seniors’ residence.

Between Friday, March 1, 2013 and Sunday, April 7, 2013, six separate break-ins occurred at suites in the building, located in the 800 block of 64 Avenue N.W. Entry was gained either through unlocked doors in a common hallway, or through unlocked patio doors on balconies.

The break-ins occurred primarily between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. In three of incidents, cash and credit cards were believed to have been taken.

Following an extensive investigation by the District 3 Break and Enter Detail, one man was arrested and charged on Thursday, April 11, 2013.

Bryce Gibson, 45, of no fixed address, is charged with two counts of break and enter and one count each of possessing break-in tools, trespass by night, possession of a stolen credit card and fraud under $5,000.
