Fourth Person Charged in Demonstration Assault

The Calgary Police Service has officially charged a fourth man in connection with an assault during a downtown demonstration.

Three other men have already been charged following a number of altercations that took place near City Hall on Friday, July 18, 2014.

On Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, detectives charged Kamaal Maxamud JAAMAC, 18, with one count of assault.

JAAMAC is scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014.

The investigation into the events that took place at the demonstration continues. Detectives are seeking public assistance to identify a man who may have information to further their investigation.

He is described as having an olive skin tone, dark hair, with a slim build and speaks with an accent. He was wearing jeans and a white T-shirt with a DULUX logo on it, with white runners and a tan baseball cap. His clothing and hands were stained with white paint.
