Five People Dead in Northwest Calgary

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is currently investigating a multiple homicide overnight in the city’s northwest.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., police were called to the 100 block of Butler Crescent N.W., for reports of several people injured while attending a house party.

When officers arrived they confirmed three people dead in the house, while two others were taken to hospital. The two people who were transported succumbed to their injuries in hospital. In total, five people are deceased – four men and one woman.

Multiple witnesses were transported to the Westwinds Campus and are currently being interviewed by detectives.

The alleged offender was arrested nearby and remains in custody. No further suspects are being sought at this time.

The Service is working to identify the victims and notify next of kin. No names will be released until autopsies are performed.

The name of the offender will be released once charges have been laid.
