Fatal collision – Man charged

A man has been charged in relation to a fatal collision that occurred in May of this year.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 26, 2013, a motorcycle and a cube van collided at the intersection of Tache Avenue and Centre Street North.

The driver of the motorcycle, Robert ENSTROM, 32, of Calgary, died in hospital on Thursday, May 30, 2013.

The passenger of the motorcycle, a 21-year-old man, sustained serious injuries. The driver of the cube van was not injured.

As a result of the investigation, and in consultation with the Crown Prosecutors Office, the driver of the cube van has been charged.

Ryan SHUBA, 32, of Calgary, has been charged with failure to proceed safely, under Section 38(a) of the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulations.

His first scheduled court appearance is Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
