Fatal collision

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate a fatal collision in the southwest.

At approximately 9 p.m., on Sunday, April 5, 2015, a 17-year-old female was driving a 2006 Pontiac G6 southbound on 37 Street S.W., with an 18-year-old male passenger in the vehicle.

The Pontiac stopped at a stop sign at Spruce Meadows Trail S.W. before proceeding through the intersection. She then drove into the path of a 2012 Dodge Ram that was travelling westbound on Spruce Meadows Trail S.W.

The female was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of the G6 was taken to hospital where he is in stable condition. The 49-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram was taken to the hospital as a precaution and has since been released.

At this time speed or alcohol are not considered to be factors.
