Drug charges

The Calgary Police Service has charged two people in relation to a drug investigation.

In late November 2012, the Calgary Police Service Gang Enforcement Team began an investigation into an alleged drug distribution network between Lethbridge and Calgary.

On Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, warrants on two homes were executed with the assistance of the CPS Tactical Unit and Canine Unit, with investigative support from the Drug Unit.

Warrants were executed at a residence in the 100 block of Douglas Ridge Mews S.E., and a residence in the 5300 block of Rundlehorn Drive N.E.

During the search warrants, officers seized the following:

- $120,535 in cash

- 500 grams of methamphetamine

- 489 grams of cocaine

- 33 grams of crack cocaine

- 70 grams of MDMA

- equipment for a cocaine conversion lab

The estimated street level value of the seized drugs is estimated to be in excess of $100,000.

A man and a woman were arrested during the execution of the search warrants.

Michael Hok WONG, 48, of Calgary, was charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count each of production of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of proceeds of crime.

Sau Lan WONG, 51, was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count each of production of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of proceeds of crime.
