Downtown Shooting Incident

The Calgary Police Service is currently on scene of a shooting incident downtown.

At approximately 8:45 p.m., tonight, Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, emergency crews responded to the 1900 block of 5A Street S.W., for reports of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found one man deceased, while two others were suffering wounds as a result of the shooting and were transported to hospital. Their condition is currently unknown.

The offender in this case fled the scene and his whereabouts are not known.

The CPS Homicide Unit has taken over this case and will release further details when they become available. Please be advised several roads around the scene will be closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
