Double shooting investigation

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a double shooting that occurred in the southwest.

At approximately 3:25 a.m., on Saturday, May 31, 2014, police were called to reports of shots being fired in the 2300 block of 10 Avenue S.W.

Police flooded the area but did not locate any victims at the scene. Several people at the location were taken to Westwinds for further questioning.

At approximately 3:35 a.m., a local area hospital called to report two men had been admitted with gunshot wounds. One arrived at the hospital in a car, the other by taxi.

A man aged between 25 and 30 remains in critical condition. A 21-year-old man is being treated for minor injuries.

Detectives are waiting to talk to both victims.

Those taken in for questioning from the scene are assisting with the investigation but no suspects have been identified at this point.

Early indications suggest the incident is linked to a private party that was being held at 8 Weapons Fitness and MMA gym. The shooting appears to have occurred outside this location.
