Double shooting investigation continues

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate a double shooting that occurred at the end of May.

At approximately 3:25 a.m., on Saturday, May 31, 2014, police were called to reports of shots being fired outside 8 Weapons Fitness and MMA training centre in the 2400 block of 10 Avenue S.W.

Police flooded the area, but did not locate any victims at the scene. Several people at the location were taken in for further questioning.

At approximately 3:35 a.m., a local area hospital called to report two men had been admitted with gunshot wounds. One arrived at the hospital in a car, the other by taxi.

A 21-year-old, who was initially in critical condition, has since been released from hospital and is currently being transported to Ontario on warrants to face unrelated weapons charges. Another 21-year-old man was treated for minor injuries and released.

Neither victims are co-operating with the investigation, nor are any of the witnesses who were at the scene. Both victims are believed to have traveled to Calgary from Fort McMurray to attend the party.

Despite several people being taken in for questioning at the time of the offence, police have not been able to obtain any significant information relating to the incident.
