Crime Stoppers Bank Robbery Re-enactment

A Crime Stoppers re-enactment will take place at the ATB Financial located at 2140-34 Ave. S.W., at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. This re-enactment is being done to encourage members of the public to come forward with information relating to a bank robbery that took place at this location last month.

On Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 3:15 p.m., a man with his face covered by a black mask, entered the ATB Financial at the above location, armed with a kitchen knife. He approached the counter and entered the "Employee Only" section through the gate. He then demanded money from all of the tellers. They complied and provided the man with an undisclosed amount of cash. At the culprit's request, the money was placed in a green duffle bag carried by the offender. Once he received the money, the culprit quickly left the bank, carrying the duffle bag.

Throughout the commissioning of this offence, the offender was both verbally and physically aggressive to the staff, threatening to stab them. Fortunately, no one was injured.

 

The suspect in this case is described as Caucasian, between 20 and 30 years old. He was approximately 6' tall, had a medium build and weighed between 150 and 165 lbs. He had brown eyes, brown hair and a day's facial growth. At the time of this incident, he was wearing a tan-coloured hoodie, blue jeans, black gloves and white runners. He was also wearing a black mask and carrying a knife and a green duffle bag with a shoulder strap.

 

Police are releasing photographs of a person of interest in this offence. These photographs are available on the City of Calgary Newsroom.
