Collision victim succumbs to injuries

A toddler involved a serious collision last week has died from her injuries.
 
On Thursday, April 25, 2013, at approximately 11:05 a.m., a serious pedestrian collision occurred on Shawville Boulevard at Shawville Gate S.W.
 
A vehicle was traveling east on Shawville Gate approaching Shawville Boulevard while a 31-year-old female was pushing her two-year-old child in a stroller across Shawville Boulevard. 
 
The 70-year-old male driver of the vehicle suffered what is believed to be a medical issue and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and child.
 
The female pedestrian was transported to hospital with minor injuries. The child and driver were transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.
 
The child, identified as Mihnaz BINISH, 2, succumbed to her injuries on Friday, April 26, 2013.
 
The male driver remains in hospital. His condition is improving but investigators have not yet been able to speak with him.
 
The CPS Traffic Section is continuing to investigate the collision. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Sgt. Daran Wood at 403-567-4000.
